There are two parts to this project. For both parts of the project you will be working in a small group of 4 people. While in the computer lab, you will need to partner up (2 students per computer). It is the job of all group members to be involved in this project. Your individual contributions will be assessed by your teacher as well as your group members. PART ONE--Becoming Experts Each group will get one aspect of the 1957 culture Melba lived in to research. Using the resources and questions in this web quest, you will research important information on your topic. You must organize your information so your group can be ready to make a 5 minute presentation to your class about what you found. ALL group members will participate in all aspects of the project (research, recording/writing, and presentation). PART TWO--The Time Capsule Once you are better informed about one part of Melba's culture, you will gather enough information and ideas about Melba's culture as a whole in order to create a time capsule of this era. A time capsule contains artifacts, tangible items, that are significant to the time the capsule represents. Your group will have to work together to find and create artifacts from each aspect of this era. You will explain each item in your time capsule and present your time capsule to your class. ALL group members will participate in all aspects of the project (research, recording/writing, finding/creating, and presentation).
