“Stories I Could Tell”

DUE: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 28

  • Come up with a list of FIVE (5) or more story ideas for events that have really happened in your own life.  You need to be happy with at least two (2) of these ideas.

Ms. Spachman’s list started out like this:

1.      The day my wallet was stolen.

2.      The horrible plane ride over the Andes.

3.      The day I baby-sat Maureen and she hurt her dog.

4.      The time I ate snake soup.

5.      The first time I had to perform Shakespeare.

6.      The day I fell off my bike.

7.      The day someone broke into my house.

8.      My first time on a rollercoaster.

9.      My first car accident.

·        Once you have your ideas listed out, write a 3-6 sentence summary of each experience (DO NOT write more than 6 sentences).  Label this as your “Stories I Could Tell” sheet.

·        After each summary, identify what type of central conflict is at the heart of each of your story ideas.  Label each story idea according to what kind of conflict it involves.

YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE YOUR “STORIES I COULD TELL” SHEET

IN CLASS ON TUESDAY!  It will be checked off then.

KEEP YOUR IDEA SHEET IN YOUR BINDER AND DO NOT LOSE IT!
