Activity: Images of the Greek Gods

YOU MUST UPLOAD ANY IMAGES YOU FIND IN ONE CLASS PERIOD OR THE IMAGES YOU SAVE TO THE DESKTOP WILL DISAPPEAR.

For this activity, you must find four or more images of your god and your god's symbol(s). You must save these images and upload them to your media repository here on the Collaboratory for later use in your published character sketch. To do this:

1) Find an image on-line using the Greek Gods cybrary.
2) Right-click on that image and select "Save Picture As..."
3) Choose to save the image on the desktop of your computer. Name the file something that makes sense to you. Then click "Save."

Repeat the steps above until you've found at least 4 images. Then...

4) In the Collaboratory, click on the green "Projects" button in the top link bar.
5) Click "media."
6) Click the "New Folder" button. Title the folder "Greek God Images" or use the name of your god as the title of the folder. Click "Save."
7) The folder should now appear as a link in your media respository. Click on this link to open the folder.
8) Click the button "Upload Media." Then click on "Browse."
9) In the pop-up window (which should have you looking at your desktop files), select one of the images you saved to the desktop. Click "Open."
10) Click the "Upload File" button. Then click "Save."

Repeat steps 8-10 to upload the rest of the images you saved to your desktop.

Student Assessment

You will receive credit for this activity when you have:
1) Uploaded a minimum of 4 images to your Collaboratory media repository and
2) Shown this work to your teacher.
